FAQ


 

Who is eligible for the program?

All currently enrolled students in the State of California. You must use a school provided email address to sign up, and provide a current, valid ID if your submission is chosen.

 

What is the amount of prize money?

$5,000.00

 

What can I use the scholarship for?

Anything you want.

 

Am I entitled to any royalties for my suggested plan?

No. Your application submission transfers all of the intellectual property rights to iFly.

 

Are there any restrictions?

You must be a currently enrolled as a full or part time student in the state of California as a high school senior, college undergraduate or graduate.


What major is the scholarship open to?

All majors and minors are acceptable.

 

Can I earn college credit from this?

Any college credit for this work is the responsibility of the student and the university. College credit is to be determined by each respective professor and university.

 

Can we work in teams?

Yes, teams are allowed, but the winning application scholarship will be split amongst the entire team..


What does one year of tunnel time mean?

Sixty tunnel flights per week for one year. Flights may be used by the winner, or the winner’s friends or family.

 

If I win can I sell my flights at the tunnel?

No, you must personally be present to enjoy your flights. All winnings are not for resale. Any sale of any kind will revoke your rights to future flights.

 

How do I apply?

All information is on the CAL-STUDENT-FLIERS.com website.

 

What is the deadline for my submission?

Submission deadline is May 1st, 2009. Entries must be submitted via through the website at www.CAL-STUDENT-FLIERS.com

 

Can I apply more than once?

You may apply once to each region, Northern California and Southern California, but not twice in the same region."


How are the applications judged?

Applications will be judged by iFLY to narrow the submissions down to a pool of ten applicants from Southern California and ten applicants from Northern California. The ten finalists from each region will then be reviewed by a panel of professors who will determine one winner from each region.


How will the winner be announced?

Winners will be notified, by email and posting on the CAL-STUDENT-FLIERS.com Website on May 15, 2009.

 

What is the Grand Prize exactly?

Grand Prizes will be awarded, one for each iFLY location. The prize will include a $5,000 cash scholarship, a summer internship program with iFLY, and one year of flying (equivalent to 60 skydives per week) for the winner.

 

Are there any second and third place prizes?

Yes. These will also be announced on the CAL-STUDENT-FLIERS website.
